“World Archery recently released the 2023 Archery World Cup schedule and World Ranking system which will in part determine Olympic quota places. Unfortunately, this impacts the schedule we had created for the USAT Qualifier Series. Because the USAT Qualifier Series events are first and foremost designed to determine the United States Archery Team to represent our nation on the world stage, and because it is USA Archery’s primary mission as an organization to enable athletes to achieve sustained competitive excellence in international competition, we find it is necessary to adjust the event schedules so that the senior and masters athletes finish competition before the youth athletes.
This adjustment will allow the athletes representing us all on the world stage to travel to the World Cup events with adequate time to arrive and prepare prior to the start of competition, in a year where team performance has newly significant impact on our ability to qualify quota spots for the 2024 Olympic Games.
We realize that this may impact some archers’ ability to attend these events and that you may have already made travel arrangements and for that, we sincerely apologize. We are sorry for any inconveniences this schedule change may cause and hope we will see as many of you as possible on the national events circuit in 2023.”
